Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking.

Chef Claude Bosi returns to his Lyonnaise roots with this buzzy ‘bouchon’, where the tables are tightly packed and the walls are adorned with colourful posters. The menu could scarcely be more French if it was emblazoned with the tricolore: vol-au-vent, andouillete, frog’s legs… take your pick... More info

It’s our favorite place to go to and celebrate. This was the 6th or 7th time we went here and it was as good as always. We brought our own bottle with us that they didn’t charge for and had 3 courses each. The steak tartare was incredible to be followed by sweet breads and a praline tart accompanied by a glass of calvados. Love it here! Keep doing what you do. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We really enjoyed our dinner here, glad to have found such a lovely French restaurant close to home. For starters we had the marinated scallops and frog legs. Both were divine, but the scallops especially. The lemon oil dressing was delicate and complimented the scallops beautifully. For mains we had the pollock and the calf livers. Cannot comment on the livers as I am not a fan (my friend did not enjoy it as much as she wanted) but the fish.....I could eat 10 portions!! Flaky, tender and the sauce, caper and crouton garnishes were perfect. A lovely finish to the dinner was light and refreshing strawberry melba. The mocktails were not great to be honest, that is the only negative about the food/drinks and the livers. Staff were welcoming and gave great recommendations, but unfortunately a few oversights like forgetting completely about our drink orders and about one of our desserts as we also wanted to try the banana split. Overall, I would definitely come back to try more menu options. But maybe for special occasions only as it is a bit pricey. Thank you for taking care of us today :) Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £80–90 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Been to the Marylebone once for lunch last year and to Chelsea one for both lunch and dinner this week. Food in both is classic French and done well. The steak au poivre, steak tartar, onion soup, moules frites were all excellent. My issue is with the service which can be a bit spotty. Last night was chaotic. We had a late dinner booking for 4 and wanted to order the whole roast chicken which we could all share plus several other dishes. The server discouraged us from ordering it saying it would take too long and tried to upsell us the shared lamb or rabbit which we were not inclined to have. We opted for 3 starters and 3 mains with several sides to share instead. When they brought the full portion steak tartar with 2 slices of toasted bread, we asked for some more toast. since we were sharing the tartar, and were told the kitchen could not make any more toast. Surprisingly zero hospitality. Only the food runner (the one who actually brings the food and serve it) was cheerful and helpful. Although the place is cozy and very French and the food quite good, I’d be reluctant to eat here again especially since there are so many amazing restaurant ants nearby with so much more friendly and welcoming service.
