We were recently booked to host a wedding at Junction, I have to say the whole team there are incredible! - seamless service through the day, not to mention communication and organisation in the build up to the day. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to book an event space! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

5* Wedding Venue in the heart of Manchester. Sophie, Paul and the Team at Junction were fantastic. Helpful, creative and always courteous throughout our meetings with them and on the big day itself. The venue is 3-4 minutes walk from the Manchester registry office at the Pankhurst Suite. Junction is one of the only venues nearby with outdoor space. The ability for the team to lean on the wider resources at Manchester Central including AV, sound and security meant we felt we received more than our monies worth. We had a huge bash with more than 150 people for the evening and the venue more than accommodated a prosecco reception, delicious meal, tea/coffee/cake and a sizeable dancefloor area with quiet area to chat. Junction reopened for our guests for brunch the next morning. Coffee there is great. With half a dozen hotels nearby such as the Leonardo, Edwardian, Midland and Premier Inn, it was perfect for guests who travelled. We want to do it all over again. Thanks a million. I recently visited Junction and, despite the venue itself being a lovely space to work in, the customer service completely ruined the experience. When we arrived, nobody greeted us or explained how the venue operated. We ended up seating ourselves because no member of staff acknowledged us, despite there being plenty of employees on shift and enough staff to keep track of customers coming and going. I had purchased a drink elsewhere before arriving and brought it in with me. We were waiting for somebody to ask if we were ready to order when a staff member approached. Rather than greeting us or offering any form of customer service, his first words were: “Is that from here?” After I explained it wasn’t, he responded with, “Well, we don’t allow food or drinks from other retailers” I apologised and explained that I was planning to order from Junction anyway. I then asked where we ordered from, and he simply replied, “The bar,” before walking away. The issue wasn’t the policy itself. Many venues don’t allow outside food and drink, and that’s completely understandable. The issue was the attitude. A polite explanation would have been perfectly fine. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily hostile and immediately created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, things didn’t improve. When I ordered my tea at the bar, another staff member repeated that outside drinks weren’t allowed and told me to either finish it quickly or stand outside. Again, there was no warmth, no politeness and no attempt to speak to customers respectfully. I didn’t even notice any signage regarding the policy, but even if there was, a simple and friendly explanation would have resolved the situation. Throughout our visit, no staff member checked on us, nobody appeared particularly welcoming, and not a single employee seemed interested in providing good customer service. While customers were largely ignored, staff seemed more interested in chatting and laughing amongst themselves. The final interaction summed up the experience perfectly. A member of staff came over to inform everyone that an event was starting at 4pm and that we all had to leave beforehand. Again, there was no courtesy whatsoever. A simple “How is everything today?” followed by a polite explanation about the upcoming event would have been far more professional. Instead, customers were essentially told to leave with no attempt to make the interaction friendly or respectful. Junction has the potential to be a fantastic place to work, study or meet friends. The venue itself is pleasant and inviting. Unfortunately, the staff were the complete opposite. Customer service costs nothing, and basic politeness should be the minimum expectation. Sadly, it was entirely absent during my visit. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
