It’s like a store from an old time movie. Karukaru (the thin long senbei) is fantastic. ikkyu-ji natto is also great with combined salty and sweet flavor.

Among the many delightful offerings at Kamesuehiro, Kyo no Tsuchi—a crisp fu-yaki rice cracker—is especially noteworthy. Inspired by the motif of “earth” or “soil,” it doesn’t demand attention like some of the more visually striking wagashi, but its quiet beauty lingers in your memory with a nostalgic charm.
