No matter how far you are from this place - it is a must! My first visit was two years ago and today I visited again and it was amazing just how I remembered it.

Stumbled upon this place after visiting Imamiya Shrine and I'm so glad I did! The aburi mochi was so good, the atmosphere was lovely. I really enjoyed my time here. The staff were friendly too. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

Enjoying aburi-mochi at Kazariya あぶり餅 本家 根元 かざりや was a really pleasant experience. The mochi is freshly grilled and has a soft texture with a gentle sweetness that feels very traditional. The light smoky aroma and the simple flavor make it a very enjoyable treat, especially when eaten slowly with tea. The staff at Kazariya were very polite and welcoming. They serve with a warm attitude and make you feel comfortable right away. The atmosphere is calm, and the service matches the peaceful surroundings near the shrine. It’s a lovely place to try Kyoto’s traditional mochi, relax for a moment, and enjoy friendly and gentle hospitality. I really enjoyed the visit.
