Our favourite place to eat of the Kyoto leg. We hadn't planned somewhere to eat for our last night and a few places we visited only took reservations and we stumbled upon this lovely place. Needless to say I'm glad we did. The staff were very helpful as a family of 4 with a 6 year old AND a 6 month old with a stroller. The staff took our stroller and stored it for us. They seated us downstairs but then seated us upstairs where our baby could roll around on the soft seats. The food was amazing. Very smoke forward if you're into that. My wife liked the beef tongue and the yellowtail, and I enjoyed most if not all the dishes. We spent about 8,000 yen total and were insanely full. (No drinks for us) Highly recommend if you're in the area! Price per person: ¥3,000–4,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

In Kyoto it can be extremely difficult to make a reservation for dinner if you are not a native-speaker. But in Kemuri you can just show up with no reservation!
