Dropped by the restaurant at Kladruby Monastery and went for the tripe soup, 59 Kč for a bowl. Pricey for a provincial monastery, but credit where it’s due: it was genuinely tasty, like proper homemade stuff (was it, though?). The rest of the menu? Let’s just say the prices have clearly taken the highway from Prague. We didn’t try anything else. Not because our wallets couldn’t handle it, but because paying gold-plated prices for food just feeds the problem. As long as folks keep shelling out livers and kidneys for stuff that isn’t worth the hype, this little banana republic of a dining scene will keep spinning the same tune.
