Michelin Guide rating

Michelin selection.

A genre-defying cuisine paired with tea-based cocktails. While rooted in French techniques, the chef seamlessly weaves in elements of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The duck dish, for instance, is prepared by ladling hot oil over the skin, much like Peking duck. The tradition of serving tea and sweets after a meal, known as ochauke, reflects Japanese hospitality... More info

This is one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in Japan. The whole course was very complex and paired extremely well. I highly recommend and please visit Chef Koki and the amazing Ito who was able to guide us with each tasting. The atmosphere and hospitality is top tier and I wish I could have spent more time enjoying this experience. Thank you for everything and will be back! The dumpling soup is very delicious. The tea preparation is one of a kind. The duck is one of the best in Japan. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I legit cannot say enough good things about this place. Koki and Ito are certified professionals. I’ll start with the food itself, you can tell that a lot of thought went into each dish. The ingredients are all fresh and delicious. Koki is extremely delicate with how he prepares each dish, it truly felt special having him serve us. Ito’s attentiveness and infectious smile really added to the whole experience. The way they pair each tea and sake with the dishes is exquisite. Aromas are out of this world and a highlight. I honestly recommend, and would give more stars if I could. Seriously a very special experience. Looking forward to the next time I come back when they get their first star, it’s warranted. Please do yourself a favor and book a slot to eat here, you will not regret it. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I wont recommend to make reservation to Kokyu in advance and Maybe you can just try to walk in from my extreme terrible booking experience. No reservation needs if you really want to try Kokyu. I make a reservation 1.5 months earlier, and just got the reservation have been canceled due to their system and management mistake. They will close the restaurant to host an event and unable to operate the restaurant. I am totally fine if they can notice immediately and have an efficient communication, instead of call me just 7 days before my originally dinner plan. How I can find a fine dinning within 7 days ? Or Kokyu define themself a “fine dinning” can be booked within 7 days. Meal type: Dinner Service: 1
