Jamaican patties so covered in grease they were floppy. Also…£10.5 for 2 patties with a chips is a bit much. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

Absolutely fantastic. I asked for a snack 'something like wings, spicy' my dude was on it. I don't drink spirits often but I asked for a cocktail, again their choice, to go with whatever food I was getting. I got pleasantly spicy wings (server brought me their home made scotch bonnet sauce as I asked for more butt fire), perfectly cooked, tender, soft and juicy. The sauces were absolutely fantastic, I nearly liked the plate. The cocktail was fruity, mild, not too sweet so paired perfectly with my spicy snack wings. I'm going back tomorrow to try the curried goat. What a place Edit; the chef who actually served my plate is GOLD and the server who decided for me is so pleasant, funny and kind. Brilliant. We have eaten at Kool Runnings a few times before. It is a place we have gone to celebrate birthdays and achievements. We have continued to go back because the food was really good and the service matched. Today we decided to get the food to go. This was a mistake as it was nowhere near the usual standard. We ordered the saltfish starter, the curried goat, and the oxtail stew. We expected a slight difference in the food as we would be taking it to go, but we didn't expect it to be as bad as it was. The oxtail stew had no flavour or any sort of gravy, it is as if they forgot to include the stew and had just boiled the meat and veg. The curried goat was fine, it was a little dry which could be because of how it was packaged (it had leaked all over the bag). We were very disappointed that our meal which cost £50+ was so below the standard we have come to expect of Kool Runnings. It is doubtful that we would return.
