This is a true gem, the Roman food is superb and the staff are truely wonderful, so friendly and clearly happy in their work! Ciao! We were on our way to dinner at another restaurant when we crossed paths with Giuseppe in front of La Cisterna ristorante. He kindly invited us in to see the inside and took us on a tour of this well aged establishment. We were taken away by the rustic beauty of the basement level of the place. My brother-in-law and I told him that we would return in a few days with our families to dine there which we did. The 5 stars for the three afore mentioned categories are not an exaggeration, warm welcoming atmosphere, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient 2 person operation in the dining room. Giuseppe and Francesca were on the go non-stop. As for the food, everything from the lamb to the pasta carbonara was on point. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys authentic Italian cuisine. Ask to go visit the basement, it was a gem of a discovery for us.
