The butter was homemade and the best of my life! I'm not sure why most people don't mention it in the reviews. It's a short walk from the old city. The service is impeccable. The food was delightful along with many small bites, including a wrap up of grapes, fig and small jellied fruit. It was an elegant and tasty meal. My husband had the bacon butter sage Bergamo traditional meal and it was better than the one we had the night before. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €60–70

La Ripa is one of the finest restaurants in Città Alta Bergamo outside of the city centre. Although outside of the centre it is less than 5 minutes walk. The location, the views on the outdoor seating are simply mesmerising. They also have a wonderful indoor dining area. The restaurant is quite huge anyways you need to reserve as it is quite busy. For big groups they allow preset menus to avoid hassle of selection. The food presentation and taste were delicious. The service can be a bit faster which is a challenge in these big restaurants. Definitely a place to try. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €60–70
