La Zanzara is a fine dining spot in Rome that offers Italian cuisine with a twist. The establishment has a jazzy vibe, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The interior design is cozy and festive, with a heated terrace for outdoor seating. Prices are a bit high for Rome, but the portions are relatively small.

La Zanzara offers a unique menu that includes original dishes such as grilled stracchiono cheese with raspberry and radicchio, cod stuffed gnocchi with clams, and porcini crème brûlée in the onion. The restaurant also serves classic Roman dishes like Amatriciana and Cacio e Pepe.

The cocktail menu is impressive, with creative concoctions like the Capriani Spritz with peach flavor and the Italian 75. The wine selection is excellent, with knowledgeable staff to make recommendations.

Located close to the Vatican buildings, La Zanzara is a popular spot among locals and tourists alike. The restaurant has a solid 3-star rating, with some customers noting that the service could be improved. However, others rave about the fantastic food, attentive wait staff, and lively atmosphere.

Overall, La Zanzara is a great place to enjoy a night out with friends or a romantic dinner with a loved one. With its delicious food, creative cocktails, and cozy ambiance, it's no wonder why it's a favorite among many in Rome.

A big thank you to the team at Hotel Cosmopolita Rome! I asked where to eat near the Vatican that wasn’t touristy, and they recommended La Zanzara. Wow—they absolutely nailed it. Hands down the best pasta I’ve ever had. If you’re in Rome and want an authentic meal away from the typical tourist spots, don’t miss this place. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
