Lalla Rookh is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Perth. It features an extensive wine list with a focus on Italian wines, and an Italian-inspired menu that is sure to please. The restaurant is located in a sub-level of St Georges Terrace and has a cozy atmosphere with comfortable seating. The service is friendly and attentive, and the food is well-prepared and delicious. The pasta dishes are particularly noteworthy with papardelle with braised rabbit and green vegetables and crab linguini being standouts. The affogato with rum and raisin ice cream is also a must-try. Although some reviews have noted slow service and small portions, overall, the restaurant offers a good experience for a date night or a night out with friends.
Always an absolute pleasure going to Lalla Rookh... the food is fabulous (we always go for the "Il Capo" - Chef's 6 course shared Menu - which is constantly changing, uses incredible infusions of ingredients and never fails to surprise or delight! Dietary requirements catered for too) The service is also impeccable and they have an extensive wine list and selection of whiskeys, gins and cocktails. Wonderful atmosphere and the variety of seating/areas mean it is suitable for everything from a cosy dinner date, to after work drinks, a dinner catch up with friends or even a great spot to wine & dine business clients. Oh and I must mention their amazingly delicious freshly baked bread (made in-house) which is served on arrival, alongside chilli oil/evoo... you'll understand why this had to get a shout out as soon as you try it! Our "go to" restaurant in the Perth CBD. Must try! Price per person: A$100–120 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Went due to good reviews. The venue nice staff initially before ordering staff afterwards defensive. We ordered spaghetti with crabmeat and Campanella ragu. Looked nothing like photo on reviews. Should have taken photo of ours both pastas still hard. Would have to question if they use fresh pasta or dried. Was definitely not Aldente My Campanella was so salty virtually inedible. When queried saltiness waiter stated lots of people complain. When I asked him should it be that salty he said yes the chef is Italian. Not sure I agree. I suggested they warn people before they order but received no response. Not sure what happened in the kitchen today but I could recommend eating here to anyone. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
