I just wanted to make a quick stop with my dog and ordered a cafe and mineral water. When ordering I made it clear that we were in a rush as we had an appointment in Cannes where we live. When I ordered I said that I would like to pay directly.
Cafe and water arrived after 5 minutes but no bill. So I reminded the waiter. He said he would come straight away. But he didn't come. He served other guests, put up umbrellas, etc. When he came by, I reminded him again. But he didn't come again. After waiting 10 minutes we left and I put 15 euros on the counter for the gentleman at the entrance. He didn't understand anything at all, didn't say anything or apologize as if he were still asleep. I then gave up the 4 euro change and left because of time constraints.
It was 28 degrees and – I don't think I need to mention it – our dog wasn't offered a bowl of water.
A very bad and unnecessary experience. People often mistake me for a tourist because of my German accent. In reality, we live in Cannes and spend a lot of money on restaurants and bars. But not here.
Ich wollte nur einen kurzen Stopp mit meinem Hund einlegen und habe einen Cafe und ein Mineralwasser bestellt. Bei der Bestellung habe ich deutlich gemacht, dass wir in Eile sind, da wir einen Termin in Cannes hatten, wo wir leben. Bei der Bestellung habe ich gesagt, dass ich daher direkt bezahlen möchte.
Cafe und Wasser kamen nach 5 Minuten aber keine Rechnung. Also habe ich den Kellner erinnert. Er meinte, er käme sofort. Aber er kam nicht. Er bediente andere Gäste, spannte Sonnenschirme auf, etc. Als er vorbeikam habe ich ihn erneut erinnert. Er kam aber wieder nicht. Nach 10 Minuten Wartezeit sind wir dann gegangen und ich habe dem Herrn am Eingang 15 Euro auf den Tresen gelegt. Er hat überhaupt nichts begriffen, hat sich nicht geäußert oder entschuldigt als wenn er noch schlafen würde. Auf die 4 Euro Wechselgeld habe ich dann verzichtet und bin aus Zeitgründen gegangen.
Es war 28 Grad warm und – ich denke ich muss es nicht extra erwähnen – wurde unserem Hund kein Napf mit Wasser angeboten.
Eine sehr schlechte und überflüssige Erfahrung. Man hält mich wegen meines deutschen Akzents oft für einen Touristen. In Wirklichkeit leben wir in Cannes und geben sehr viel Geld für Restaurants und Bars aus. Aber nicht hier.
Je voulais juste faire un petit arrêt avec mon chien et j'ai commandé un café et de l'eau minérale. Lors de la commande, j'ai précisé que nous étions pressés car nous avions rendez-vous à Cannes où nous vivons. Lors de ma commande, j'ai dit que je souhaitais payer directement.
Le café et l'eau sont arrivés au bout de 5 minutes mais pas la facture. Alors j'ai rappelé le serveur. Il a dit qu'il viendrait immédiatement. Mais il n'est pas venu. Il servait les autres invités, installait des parapluies, etc. Quand il est passé, je le lui ai encore rappelé. Mais il n'est pas revenu. Après avoir attendu 10 minutes nous sommes partis et j'ai mis 15 euros sur le comptoir pour le monsieur à l'entrée.
Il n'a rien compris du tout, n'a rien dit et ne s'est pas excusé comme s'il dormait encore. J'ai ensuite renoncé à la monnaie de 4 euros et je suis parti faute de temps.
Il faisait 28 degrés (C) et bien sûr, inutile a dire, on n'a PAS proposé d'eau à mon chien.
Une expérience très mauvaise et inutile. Les gens me prennent souvent pour un touriste à cause de mon accent allemand. En réalité, nous vivons à Cannes et dépensons beaucoup d’argent en restaurants et bars. Mais pas ici.
