Once the promenade around the Chapelle Saint-Yves is over, visit Les Bricoles. French cuisine is to guests' taste here. You can try perfectly cooked pies, seafood and fish. Offering tasty parfait, fruitcake and tiramisu is the hallmark of this bar. You will be offered good wine or delicious white wine. It's a must when visiting Les Bricoles to try great coffee.

Top ! On mange très bien, rénovation moderne de plats traditionnels et cave au diapason. Ambiance festive hors confinement, bon courage !

During my last stop in Brittany, I met up with my niece, for a quick Dinner. She was super excited to take me to the new " cool" spot in Rennes, and told me they offered great cocktail just like the one I like in NYC. Off we go to "les bricoles" which would translate as knick knacks in english. We walked in without a reservation ( mistake) but the wait for the table gave us an excuse to have a drink at the bar , fresh and stirred in front of us. We got sat by a very friendly gentleman and shared a planche to start with which was generous in quantity and offering great product assortment. I then picked the coquille St jacques and my niece had the entrecote both entrees were well plated and delicious. Service is quick and efficient ( perfect for an impatient New Yorker). We were full yet easily tempted by the Tarte au Citron re written which was amazing and well worth it. We ordered a last cocktail and did not feel rush to leave, enjoyed the music in the background and the happy crowd at the bar. Overall we had a great experience, the place is busy , and if you are more than 2 I would def recommend dinner reservation. I will def be back, should I come back to Rennes, and truly hope I get to experience their backyard which is being worked on and soon to be open according to the owner. A pleasant surprise !
