I'm going five stars for Los Panchos since it's one of those awesome locally owned, independent restaurants that doesn't strive to be anything it isn't - they do solid food at great prices with friendly service. I go here for pupusas since I really love them and Los Panchos does them pretty well. My personal favorite is Balompie but Los Panchos also hits the spot. Their curtido is also pretty darn tasty and tangy and their salsa has a nice kick to it too. I've been going for several years and was most recently there before pinball league night across the way at Outer Orbit since they were not serving food that night so I decided to get my pupusa fix. In SF many spots are expensive and fancy but it you want a down home meal I'd definitely suggest Los Panchos! I absolutely love this restaurant. I have been picky with where I get my Salvadoran dishes, and it's going to be at Mexican-Salvadoran fusion, but this one is by far the most authentic in terms of atmosphere and flavor. The pupusas trigger memories of my favorite place that my parents would take me as a kid in Redwood City.
