The utterly shameless management at this restaurant deceptively declared they serve halal certified food. However after asking a few simple questions I quickly established that they procure their meat, beef, chicken from the same provider that supplies the restaurant with bacon and pork. They have the audacity to declare in writing on the various food delivery apps (Uber eats, Deliveroo, etc) that they serve halal food but the staff confirmed to me that they simply remove the bacon/pork from any order and apparently this turns the food halal. Edited after the owner's response: Thank you for responding, however I'm reluctant to take your word for it at face value. It's hard for me and I will assume anyone else for that matter to believe that the supplier you procure your chicken,beef,etc and as you and your colleagues have confirmed previously also pork/bacon will be halal. It's very suspicious that the same supplier that provides your halal products will also supply pork/bacon. This is confusing to say the least and would certainly be a cause for concern for any potential customers who glances at your delivery menu to see that you provide halal products. I do think there's been a miscommunication here - as our Supervisor mentioned on the phone - our Chicken is Halal. This is sourced from the same Butcher as our other meat products including Bacon, however there is no cross contamination and we do hold a Halal Certificate for our Chicken. We don't remove bacon from anything in order to make it halal, the halal dishes simply do not include bacon Thank you again for bringing this situation to our attention, we will take steps to ensure things are made clearer and this does not happen again.More
