My family and I visited Mangosteen on Friday night around 7pm to celebrate a birthday, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. We were seated and told table service was fine for our larger group, and that we didn’t need to order a banquet. Some of us ordered entrees and mains, while others ordered mains only, which staff confirmed was okay. About 30 minutes later, things started to go wrong. Most mains were brought out first, while some guests received their entrees at the same time as their mains. Others who had ordered both were left waiting over an hour and a half for their mains after finishing their entrees. This left half the table eating while the rest sat there with nothing, constantly asking staff for updates. What made it worse was being told multiple times that the delay was “our fault” for not sharing entrees, even though we were all ordering and paying individually. If timing was an issue, the kitchen should have coordinated service properly so entrees came first and mains followed together. Unfortunately, the food didn’t make up for it. The noodles I ordered had a burnt taste and the chicken pieces were oddly cut (photo attached on fork of a chicken piece). My partner’s Vietnamese pancake (bánh xèo), which is also misspelled on the menu, was nothing like the dish and resembled more of an omelette. Overall, the service and food quality were well below expectations. Waiting over an hour for dishes and being blamed for it made the experience frustrating and disappointing, especially for what was meant to be a special occasion. Price per person: $40–60 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
