Very nice, relaxed cafe with extremely tasty food. We had dinner there recently. Coconut crusted prawns starter was amazing, two pork mains were good and ice cream cake dessert was very tasty. Great service, wonderful ambience, so chilled and laid back on a veranda open to a beautifully laid out garden. Highly recommended. Visited Maniumpathy Café on a Poya day for lunch with a group of six, and it turned out to be a lovely experience. We tried a variety of dishes — the Authentic Jaffna Thali with Chicken, Fish, and Jackfruit curries, along with Elvis’ Fried Chicken, Coconut Crumbed Prawns with Mango Salsa, and a refreshing Strawberry Lassi. Each Thali came beautifully plated with three vegetable curries, curd, pickle, rasam, payasam, and papadam. The vegetable curries were excellent — fresh, flavourful, and well-balanced — but the highlight was definitely the Payasam, which had the perfect sweetness and creamy consistency. The total bill, including taxes and service charge, was around Rs. 20,500 for six people, which felt reasonable for the quality and setting. The café itself is charming — clean, spacious, and relaxing, with a calm atmosphere ideal for a leisurely meal. Overall, a delightful spot for authentic northern Sri Lankan flavours in a beautiful setting.
