Wanted to try this restaurant for a while. Went to the Eastern Market location and the best thing was the hostess stand. I only say this because we never received food in matter of fact we were never greeted at our table (never acknowledged after 10+ minutes). The place was not busy,It looks like everyone else enjoyed their time and food. I guess I'll never know. This is unfortunate it was a kick off to my birthday and I had heard good things.

Finally had the chance to stop in for lunch during the weekday this week while it wasn't as busy and thought we would be in and out within an hour. Our waitress was really nice and welcomed us when we walked in, but it did take a while for our food to come out (about 30-40minutes) and they had 3 parties of 2 dinning in. The ambiance is nice they have cute decor, a purple, green, and gold theme, and a great playlist. I really wanted to love this place and had high expectations based on the reviews, but the food didn't really stand out to me. We ordered the fried chicken and catfish and for our sides, we ordered the Mac and cheese, green beans, rice pilaf, and candied yams. The sides were fantastic, minus the rice pilaf--that was too salty. The entrees were alright... I personally like my fried chicken crunchy and crispy, and I was expecting a nice crunch when I bit into their chicken, so imagine my dismay when I was met with a flaky bite of chicken. I will say though that they have fantastic cornbread, but it would be so much better if they warmed it up before they served it!

I visited Marybelle's Southern Cache today due to a positive review from another customer. I had fried pork chops, yams, and collard greens. The food was ok. The service was fair. My husband had to go to counter to get the hot sauce and another glass of water. I suggest checking on your customers more frequently. Also, everyone was trying to come into the restaurant through a locked door. I would add a sign stating, please use the other door.
