This was not my first time here, but I figured I would write a review! I love taking friends here and it's a great date spot, too. It was however my first time making it in for Top Shelf Tuesday, which is awesome! The food is always fresh and plated beautifully. I got the Paella which was delicious. I think one of the things I like about this place as opposed to a lot of other sit down spots in the area is that the servers are attentive and friendly, but they aren't pushy or constantly hovering and will actually let you eat your meal in peace. The decor is very cool and always fun to look at. I'm sure I'll be back soon! We ate here this past weekend when visiting Seattle. The food was great with some spicy options. The environment was nice and the service really good as well. I recommend it. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I have been to Matador West Seattle since they opened. As a bigger guy. I’ve always really enjoyed the atmosphere, especially being able to sit in the booths with my friends and family when I came to dine. No longer. For some inexplicable reason, the management saw fit to bolt down the tables, and when I came in to dine today, I could no longer fit in the space between the entrance of the booths and the table. I was truly embarrassed. And before you say anything, no, I don’t want to sit at the bar, nor do I want to sit at the common table. I no longer feel welcome at Matador, and I will never return. You have lost customer who came in pretty regularly. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1

Nick, thank you for your review. We've made the decision to remount our tables for greater stability and improved leg room to increase comfort for our guests. That said, we still have 4 tables and 3 large booths in the restaurant that were not affected by this change; these tables are not communal nor are they part of the bar or fireplace seating. This approach allows us to offer comfortable and accessible seating to each and every guest. Our team is happy to provide one of these tables upon request.
