First ate here about 6 months ago. Food was excellent. Very disappointed with food on last visit. My wife ordered the fish and chips. Neither fish nor fries were crunchy. Breading had a very soggy taste. I ordered the beef wellington. Though the meat was very good the puff pastry was extremely soggy. It should have been a nice golden brown. The mistake was putting the spinach on top of the pastry and having a duxelle which was a bit too moist. Was unhappy with the meal. Coming back down from upstate and google recommend this place. We stopped in and it looked very pretty inside and out. We ordered our food and the wait was very long we thought they forgot our appetizers. The crab cake we ordered looked very off and unappetizing. I tried it and didn’t trust it. When I asked they said it was mixed with shrimp! What if I was allergic to shrimp! The waitress never asked before hand if any allergies were present thank god we didn’t. After a less wait we got our entree and my mother took a bite and stated where is the salmon in her sandwich. She called the waitress over and stated she believed that she got the wrong order. The waitressed looked at it and said that’s the correct sandwich. 3 minutes later she came out and apologized as it indeed was the wrong sandwich. My dads also looked to have asparagus and spinach on his duck which 1. He doesn’t like, 2. Has a minor allergy to spinach. For the future success of the operation they must include the ingredients in their food! Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: $30–40

Mattar's Bistro is our favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is very modern and upscale. The food is always excellent! I love their Bistro Burger and my wife loves the salmon. The Mediterranean Tapas has the best hummus and baba ghanoush I have ever had. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
