This place is good but nothing special. Service was just ok - we waited long times for water several times. The food was pretty good, I’ve listed the items we ordered below with asterisks to indicate what we enjoyed: - Croquetas de Short Rib* - Avocado & Sikil P’aak* - Adobo Chicken Tinga Quesadillas - Carne Asada* I’d say this place is worth trying but not sure it’s worth coming back to

Good food overall, but definitely overpriced for what you get. One thing that really bothered me was being served a 1-liter bottle of still water without being asked, and then being charged $8 for it—especially when it was just for one person. That should absolutely be clarified beforehand. On a positive note, the avocado toast was really good—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Just wish the pricing and communication matched the quality of the food. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If you’re serious about food, Mayahuel is one of those rare places that actually lives up to the hype. We’re extremely picky when it comes to quality, and this place delivered across the board. The French toast is hands-down the best we’ve had—perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, with that ideal texture that’s crisp on the outside and soft inside. The croissants are top notch, and you can immediately tell the difference. There’s a level of technique here that’s hard to find locally—no surprise given that the baker/chef was trained in France. The lamination, flavor, and flakiness are exactly what you’d expect from a true French pastry kitchen. On the savory side, the barbacoa and rib tacos are excellent—rich, flavorful, and clearly made with attention to detail. Nothing feels rushed or mass-produced. Overall, this is a spot that blends high-level pastry craftsmanship with bold, well-executed Mexican flavors. Definitely a standout—and absolutely worth coming back to.
