Melo is a charming Sicilian establishment in the heart of Rome that offers simple yet delicious cuisine at an extremely reasonable price. The ambiance is cozy and rustic, perfect for a respite after a day of sightseeing. The interior design is traditional, with photos on the walls that showcase the restaurant's history. Melo is located near the Capitoline Museum and the Colosseum, making it a convenient stop for tourists.

The menu features classic Sicilian and Italian dishes such as pasta alla carbonara, pasta alla norma, and pasta with broccoli. The seafood dishes are also outstanding, especially the grilled swordfish. For dessert, the cannoli are a must-try. Melo also serves its own house wine, which is run by the friendly Sicilian couple who own the establishment.

The staff at Melo are welcoming and attentive, providing outstanding service to their guests. The atmosphere is family-friendly and perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. The restaurant also offers outdoor seating, adding to the charm of the place. Melo is a fine dining spot that has stood the test of time for good reason. We had an absolutely wonderful lunch at Nonno Melo Fori Imperiali today (13 July 2026), and it was one of the highlights of our visit to Rome. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and excellent hospitality. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome without ever being intrusive. Their recommendations were spot on, and the service throughout our meal was professional, efficient, and always delivered with a smile. The food was simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and bursting with authentic Italian flavour. You could really taste the care and passion that goes into every plate. The portions were generous, and everything was cooked to perfection. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, combining the charm of Rome with a relaxed and comfortable setting. Its location near the Imperial Forums makes it the perfect place to stop for lunch while exploring the city's incredible history. What made our visit especially memorable was the combination of exceptional food, outstanding service, and the welcoming atmosphere. It's not always easy to find a restaurant in such a popular tourist area that exceeds expectations, but Nonno Melo certainly did. Thank you to the entire team for making our lunch such a memorable experience. We will happily recommend Nonno Melo Fori Imperiali to anyone visiting Rome and would definitely return on our next trip. Highly recommended—five stars without hesitation!
