The Mermaid Inn

The Mermaid Inn in Rye is a truly unique and special place to visit. It is an old 17th century coaching inn, with cobbled streets and all the charm of a bygone era. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the bar has an extensive gin menu with over 40 varieties. The restaurant offers a two AA Rosette menu that is full of delicious dishes, although the portions may be on the small side. The rooms are smaller than expected for the price, but they are cosy and comfortable. There is plenty of history and atmosphere to soak up in the building, and it's a great place to escape from 21st century life. The bar and restaurant service is friendly and prompt, and the breakfast is tasty. However, the car park is too small and the bar prices are a bit steep. For a truly unique experience, The Mermaid Inn is definitely worth a visit.
