We stopped by here on a Saturday night after dinner...it was around 11pm and the bar wasn't too busy (actually, it was kind of dead so if you are looking for a hot spot then this probably isn't the place). The decor is gorgeous and I love the concept of trying different wines.

There's definitely no Japanese whisky shortage at Nihon Whisky Lounge! In addition to the best whisky selection I've seen in SF, they've also got great izakaya dishes, including yakitori and inventive rolls. As good as the whisky and food are, our server Carolyn was even better -- her mastery of Japanese whisky is surpassed only by her knowledge of Hiyao Miyazaki films. Can't wait to go back again.
