Check out how Nomade looks inside

After enjoying SoCo District, go to this restaurant which is not far away. Mexican cuisine is to clients' liking here. Perfectly cooked soft-shell crabs, pork chops and scallops have a good taste. Nomade provides tasty churros, chocolate cheesecakes and coconut flans. It might be cool to try delicious margaritas, wine or tequila. Great horchata, fresh juices or French coffee are the best drinks of this place.

Invite your girlfriend to this spot with a romantic atmosphere. The nice staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. Service at this restaurant is something one can call cool. Prices here are reported to be good. The cute decor is suitable for the interior of Nomade. This place has received Google 4.4 according to the guests' opinions.

When is the last time you had a "Wow" dining experience? This place blew away everyone at the table. All four of us were thrilled with the food! We got several small dishes and shared. You need to do this because there are so many great things on the menu. Including the great cocktails Our highlights were the grilled octopus, the fish tacos are not your everyday fish tacos, they are coated with tempura and then scorched black! Fabulous!!! We started with their sauce sampler and that was a good move because we kept dipping other food into it. We finished with the churros! Ok, I haven't purchased a churro in years! These came out Hot and fresh, delicious! But wait....we ordered their in house made ice cream to go with it! Show stopper Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Thank you for the wonderful review. So glad you had a great experience with us. The octopus and the tempura and two of my favorite dishes and the churros are definitely the best way to cap the meal! Chef Jay

Wander Ins NOT Welcome TLDR: Nomade is definitely not “Wander ins welcome” and is a far cry from the fun/friendly/chill vibe that makes South Austin great. Went in on a Wednesday at 5:30pm with my wife. Two of us walked up to the hostess stand. Asked the hostess if we could have two for happy hour and dinner, We did not have a reservation. She looked at her iPad. Thought about it for a minute, and then told us it would be 2 hours. We said ok, not in a hurry, could we just sit in the bar area and have a drink and hang out. The answer was no. We could only sit at the tables that were open by the entrance, but could not order anything. I told her I didn’t mind getting my own drink from the bar and understood if they didn’t have servers there. I was told that I could not go to the bar and order a drink and I could only just sit at those tables. But could have nothing. That sounded bizarre, what restaurant doesn’t want to sell drinks? What kind of bar is the kind you can’t order from? We decided to leave and get a drink somewhere else. As we walked back to the entrance there was a table with a group of three people sitting right in the same area we were told we could sit and have nothing, but they all had cocktails. Calmly went back up to the hostess and asked what was going on. Why could we not sit there and get a cocktail, when clearly it is something they allow. They finally relented, a server threw a couple of menus at the table and huff’ed off. What’s up with this place? Seems like the Nomade is missing the point and for sure not living up to their sign… Hope you have a better experience, or do what we did … skip Nomade and instead go to Curra’s and enjoy great service, a great margarita, and a nice patio just the same way it has always been. I am confident they are not so aloof as to turn down a drink order from a couple of wander ins :). Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Other
