My favorite Hotel in Mechelen, everything is within walking distance. Hotel is very cozy, well equipped and with great breakfast buffet. Service: 5

I stayed in an executive room at the Novotel Mechelen Centrum. While the room was comfortable and the overall experience was fine, I encountered a serious safety issue. There was a sleeper couch in the room with metal enforcement plates just above the ground. I accidentally injured my toe on one of these plates, leaving it purple and extremely painful for two days. I reported this to the staff at checkout, but there seemed to be little concern. I would strongly recommend that the hotel replace or modify these couches to prevent other guests from getting hurt. Hotel was pretty much perfect, decently priced, rooms were clean and spacious. In particular the service was amazing, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially the bar man Dani (the man with the magnificent moustache), he was really lovely to chat to and very knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations! We'll definitely be back :) Service: 5
