The success of Orifushi wouldn't be possible without the accommodating staff. Fine service is something guests appreciate here. From the guests' viewpoint, the atmosphere is exotic. This place is a great little restaurant offering authentic Kyoto style cuisine. It is very cosy and quiet, which makes it a perfect place for anniversaries, dates or people who want to go out for any special occasion - pretty much the opposite of a noisy Japanese Izakaya. The whole restaurant is run by the owner, there are no sous chefs, waitresses or other staff. Therefore, you have to make a reservation at least one day before and chose the price for the course meal when making the reservation. We were offered 8.000, 10.000, 15.000 and 18.000 Yen options. We went for the 10.000 Yen meal and it was fantastic! The attention to detail and the presentation were really good, every course was beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious. Drinks (we had different kinds of rice wine from Kyoto) were also wonderful. All in all not the cheapest place, but worth every Yen! The owner was also very nice and had a very pleasant and discreet manner. We will definitely go there again. Highly recommended!
