Not a restaurant!Gaming only, unsure why operational. Signs should be removed that advertise as restaurant and casino / gaming signs put up.
After reading so many positive reviews, I am convinced they are fake, written by the owner and friends. I pass by The Outpost regularly and always see a parking lot full of cars. I decided one day I would stop by and give it a try for dinner. Once again, another full parking lot. To my surprise as my party and I walked into the building, we were the only people there. We were seated at a dirty table. Only three drink options; in the back, I could see the soda fountain with a large out of order sign. The area looked unkempt and filthy. The tea tasted rancid and undrinkable. The waiter, who I'm guessing was also the only cook, took our order. My party ordered an appetizer which unfortunately came at the end of the meal. At that point, what is even the deal in getting the appetizer?? The po boy did not look anything like the pictures you see online. The shrimp were tiny and tasted like they were fried in old oil. The air smelt of old oil too. There was so much sauce on the sandwich, it fell apart in my hands. Over priced food for extremely poor quality. Also, lots of loiterers that were coming and going and entering a side room that appeared to have a casino game room. In the time I was there, I saw the same people leaving (driving off in their cars) and coming back just to enter that room again. Something just didn't seem right. I'm pretty sure a car pulled up and picked up a prostitite in the parking lot as we were trying to eat. Never again! I don't see how this place stays open. The Longview Health Department needs to look into this place! There has got to be some shady business going on behind the scenes.
