Hard to fault this Parador. Our room was massive with an enclosed terrace overlooking the river. Plenty of chairs and sitting space and comfortable beds. Bathroom was also excellent. Best of all, the AC was cranking on not throttled as so often happens in Spain. Service was very good and breakfast was average for a Parador, which is better than 90% of Spanish restaurant breakfasts. Not a luxury hotel but met and exceeded expectations

Stayed here while walking the Camino with my brother and it was exactly what we needed. The location is ideal right on the route, making it a perfect stop to rest and recharge. The rooms were very comfortable and well kept, with everything done to a high standard. Service was warm and professional without being over the top. Breakfast is a must — genuinely one of the best we’ve had on the Camino. Proper quality, plenty of choice, and sets you up perfectly for the day ahead. Overall, a great experience and somewhere I’d happily return to or recommend to anyone passing through Ribadeo. A must do is go to cathedral beach. Short taxi ride.

We just returned from our stay at the Parador de Ribadeo. This is not the first Paradores we have stayed in, but it might be the last. From the check-in all the way to breakfast it did not meet expectations. We are Amigos de Paradores which was never acknowledged or asked for and booked via the app as well. Why have an app or a loyalty program if it means nothing. The room was nice but by far not as well maintained as I would expect from a Parador. We went to the bar for a drink (not the welcome drink that all Amigos get since that never happened and we were not in the mood to go rectify the matter) and enjoyed the view of the estuary. Every time we passed by reception there was no acknowledgement of us coming or going by the colleague behind the counter. Breakfast was ok, again, nothing like we had experienced in the past, but what can be expected if there is one lady taking care of everything F&B related. The second coffee o would have loved I gave up on eventually because she was just too busy. I understand it is winter, but then close for the duration instead of offering sub parr service / experiences. We were planning in going to Parador Fuente Dé in March but have now cancelled those plans.
