A must visit near the Vatican City. The pasta is tasty and fresh. Delivered in a timely manner. Despite a small queue to enter the shop the staff were very quick and friendly, ensuring orders are quick and delivered in their own time limit of around 5 minutes. The system in place to track orders and notify customers their order is ready is very efficient. Customers are given a small device that buzzers when the order is ready to collect, meaning less people in the shop, a great idea! Pastasciutta was recommended to me for lunch by my Vatican Museum tour guide and she did me a favor. It's located about 50 yards from the north entrance to Vatican City and is a 9 bar stool restaurant that serves only 6 pasta meals and most of the people who get their food here eat it on the street curb in front. When I arrived for lunch the line was about a 15 minute wait. When it was my turn, I ordered the spaghetti alla carbonara for €7. Adding a Coke made the lunch €9. The inside of the restaurant is the size of a large closet. Working in cramped quarters the cooks make the food in front of you and then they call your number. My bowl of deliciousness was ready in about 3 minutes after ordering and luckily I grabbed an open barstool to eat inside. I'm not a big fan of dining on a street curb. The pasta was delicious with the egg, cheek lard, cheese and pepper mixing excellently with the homemade spaghetti. Italian comfort food at its best. I really liked this hole in the wall restaurant. The food was delicious and affordable too. It's simple and basic and serves the purpose for a quick and filling meal while visiting The Vatican. Come eat here.
