Visiting Seattle for the second time, but my first time traveling here solo, I came to Pike Place Chowder on Saturday afternoon for a light lunch. I was running the Iron Horse Half Marathon the next morning, so I didn’t want anything too heavy. I stood in line for almost half an hour, which honestly felt a little ridiculous, but eventually ordered the Seafood Bisque with Pacific cod, Northwest salmon, and Oregon bay shrimp in a creamy tomato broth. The bisque was pretty good. It came with oyster crackers and a slice of what I believe was sourdough bread. I took everything to a nearby outdoor seating area and ate there. I’d probably give the bisque itself around a 3.5/5. It was good, but I don’t know if I’d wait half an hour specifically for it again. Still, I’ll round up and give the overall experience 4 stars. I’d come back if I’m in the area again, but be prepared for the line! 4/5 stars Last visited: August 29, 2026 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Tip: if you don’t want to wait in line I recommend just ordering it to-go, and find a spot to eat it. I’d pick 15 mins wait over 45 mins for chowder. Got the New England Clam Chowder and Lobster Roll, Chowder 10/10, Lobster 6/10 (wish the bread was soft and buttery) Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

We tried the Chef’s Special Market Chowder at Pike Place Chowder, and it was absolutely delicious! Rich, flavorful, and comforting. The sourdough bread was the perfect accompaniment—fresh, crusty, and ideal for soaking up every last bite. Definitely a must-try if you’re visiting Seattle! Priya, thank you SO much! We're loving these photos and we appreciate you taking the time to share. Glad it was such a lovely experience. Fun fact about the sourdough: it's sourced from a local Seattle bakery and delivered fresh daily! We hope to to have you back again soon for more scrumptious chowder. :) - Jenny @ Pike Place Chowder
