🚮DO NOT EAT HERE!
As of Friday, I will no longer visit this establishment, and I am urging other Black Customers to stand with me in solidarity.
I used to order from Favo Pizza and Draft House just about every Friday. I looked forward to my end of the week pizza and have suggested this restaurant to many visiting friends and family members. On Friday, I ordered my usual pizza online and went into the restaurant where I waited in the pick-up line for assistance. There I stood 15 minutes with no salutations or acknowledgement. It was as if I was not a paying customer. Trying to give my usual restaurant the benefit of the doubt, I addressed a female employee about my online order. In which she did not make eye contact or even turn around to look at me, but simply stated in a foul tone “they were busy, nothing was ready, and I would have to wait.” I then addressed another employee and she replied, “It’s a very busy night.” In reference to her colleague. What saddens me though is when a white female customer walked into the building after me, they found the time out of their busy night to acknowledge and greet her with a smile. She received reassurance of her order being prepared and someone even came out of the back to ensure she was taken care of.
After leaving the restaurant enraged, disappointed, and reluctant to consume my pizza. I called the store to speak to a manager. The receptionist yelled my name across the room in an annoying manner and then I was told due to the volume they were experiencing I would need to call back. Today is Monday, and I have yet to speak to anyone, because I do not believe it is my responsibility as a customer to reconcile the situation. I work very hard to give positive energy to everyone I encounter. It angers me until this day that I was overlooked and still ignored as an African American female. I will not be a part of a restaurant that belittles their customers. I implore this business to receive proper training in customer service skills and service recovery before their lack of customer service causes other potential customers to receive poor experiences.
