Amazing surprise in the city center of Trieste. The service was simply perfect and the food was breathtaking. I had the gazpacho with shrimps, the salmon, and the desert. The gazpacho was very refreshing and the warm shrimps gave a special touch to the dish. The salmon had a delicious crispy crust with salt flakes, which turned the dish into something so delicious that I’d have had another one. Next to the salmon, there were moist and incredibly good vegetables that paired perfectly with the fish. To finish, I had the homemade tiramisu. It was the lightest tiramisu I ever had - amazing! If you’re in Trieste, do not miss this place. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We happened upon this place wandering near our hotel looking for lunch. Beautifully simple and elegant interior. Host/server was warm and welcoming. Wine list offers plenty of choices. Loved the abbreviated lunch menu offering something for everyone. We started with the burrata and the roast beef to share which were fantastic. I had penne with ragu. Delicious. Family had the gnocchi. with mussels and spaghetti with clams. Also delicious. We finished with the octopus, lightly battered and tasty without feeling heavy. Serving sizes were plentiful without being overwhelming. Highly recommend! Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We found this place just around the corner from the hotel Savoia Excelsior Palace. It is a very new restaurant and the food was outstanding. The beef tartare with dijon mustard was wonderful and presented beautifully. We also had the sesame encrusted tuna which also terrific. For dessert I had a "modern" version of the apple tart with each component presented separately in its own well on the plate. A very cute and innovative way to present dessert. Overall, I highly recommend Rivea and wish its owners every success in their new venture. Price per person: €40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
