Red Rock is transplant from Japan that specializes in Kobe beef bowls. It's a welcome addition to Sawtelle. They have underground parking in the complex available with validation. For the food: The American Kobe sliced beef bowl is delicious. Tender slices of beef in light au jus over rice. It's topped with cream sauce and make sure to add the Jidori egg yolk. Once it opens back up again, I'd like to try their cut ribeye bowl.

Came by this spot for dinner with a friend before the quarantine. There is parking in a lot though its paid. I parked a few blocks away. Be careful with parking in this area because they will ticket you any chance they get. Once I arrive in the plaza I still had a tough time finding the restaurant. It's located on the 2nd floor near the stairs toward the corner away from the street. It's a little hidden and hard to spot until you're upstairs. The staff was friendly and the service was prompt. We were seated right away and they gave us a quick run down of the menu. I went with the US Kobe Sliced Beef Don while my friend got the American Cut Steak Don. Both were absolutely delicious. The American Steak was well seasoned and pre-sliced but still tender though definitely tougher than my US Kobe Sliced Beef Don. The sliced beef don was something else. The meat was just so smooth and delicious. It didn't taste fatty but the thin precise cuts of meat still dissolved in your mouth. The horseradish sauce was absolutely perfect with it too. They have a regular and a large size and I regret not getting the bigger one now! Overall, I loved my meal here. The atmosphere was intimate, the food was good, and the price was very reasonable. I will most definitely be back. ---The Return: US Kobe Sliced Beef Don---
