We moved into the Ritz Carlton residences in 2013. Initially we favored the West End Bistro due to Eric Ripert fame. Over time we came to appreciate and prefer Ris. (Early owners receive discounts at both restaurants.) Ris' menu is brief but extraordinary. Even her bar snacks (e.g. fish tacos, sliders) are best of the neighborhood. The servers are refreshingly not condescending. Walk a block south off M Street for better food at surprisingly affordable prices. I have never met Ris and have received no compensation for my review. Excellent independently operated (and I guess owned) restaurant. Unassuming setting which turns you into a strong believer once your dishes arrive. Taste of all what we ordered was exquisite. High quality ingredients must have been used, combined with a creative chef to achieve such an amazing experience. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section

Part of restaurant week jan 2026. The menu was not bad at all and had many options. Good was good, staff were friendly. The place started to get busy around 7pm with couples and small parties. Location is good and in a good DC area. Definitely recommend it.
