Good kitchen help really is so hard to find. The struggle is real - and blatantly apparent at Roam. I have been here a number of times (10+ maybe?). The burgers are inconsistently cooked and typically overcooked, frequently arriving well done. I mean, the only thing you do is burgers - can you find people who know how to do this consistently? The problem with the burgers being over cooked is they end up being dry. And that’s not good food. I always order mine medium rare or medium. They have a weird way of describing this by asking if you want some pink or no pink (vs the more traditional “rare, medium, well done”). So, according to their definition, I always order my burgers with a pink center. Maybe 3 out of 10 times, that’s what I get. The staff in the front are warm and great and wonderful. They make the experience pleasant. I also love their fries. If they could just find kitchen staff who know how to cook hamburgers, they’d be killing it. Right now, however, I can only give them a solid “meh”.
