A Memorable Roman Meal I had a wonderful meal at Romané and really enjoyed trying two traditional Roman dishes that I had never had before. I started with the trippa alla romana, beef tripe cooked in a tomato sauce with Pecorino Romano and mint. The combination of the rich tomato sauce, sharp Pecorino Romano, and fresh mint made for a very satisfying dish. It was hearty without feeling too heavy, and a great example of traditional Roman cooking. I followed that with the calamaro ripieno, a stuffed squid filled with clams, mussels, garlic, parsley, and breadcrumbs, gently cooked in a pan. The seafood filling was flavorful without overpowering the squid, and the dish felt simple, balanced, and very well prepared. Both dishes gave me a chance to try something genuinely Roman rather than ordering the familiar Italian dishes I already know. It was a meal that felt connected to the city's food traditions, and one I'll remember from our time in Rome. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €30–40
