I was a little disappointed in my visit, but not because of any issue with the food or service.  I was hoping for an old-timey Italian restaurant vibe, like totally cliche TV crap (at least I can admit it).  I read a ton of food lists and articles about the best places to get an authentic Italian meal in Little Italy and this place was routinely at the top of the list so I decided to go.  When I walked in cold and tired, I was a little let down.  It's super trendy...loud, cramped, full of young people, heavy on the hipsters.  I was cold and tired and had no clue where else to go so I grabbed the last seat at the bar and resigned myself to the experience.  I ordered a glass of house red and the meatballs, but the people on either side of me both had pizza and it looked phenomenal.  The wine was smooth and delicious, and quite affordable.  And the meatballs...oh my goodness the meatballs were scrumptious!  So, while the food was top notch it wasn't the experience I was looking for.  I felt cramped and rushed and judged and I definitely didn't linger over a second glass of wine.
Before I start, I'd like to say MAKE A RESERVATION VIA RESY two weeks prior to the day that you'd like to go!! Resy refreshes at 9PM Pacific Time on the night before or 12AM Eastern Time on the day of! For example, you wanted to book for Tuesday, 12/24/2019, then you need to be on your feet at Tuesday, 12/10/2019 at 12AM. And so that's what I did :-). Use the app, be smart and save your time. It is definitely worth it..  otherwise your wait time can go from 1-2 hours and it ain't fun. East Coast to West Coast Tip: This is the true crispy, thin crust Brooklyn Style pizza and so if you're from California and wanting to try some good thin crust, THIS hits the spot! Ambience: The place is located snug in Nolita/Little Italy, situated with many of its pizza competitors close-by. The interior reminds you of a cozy and home-y feel that makes you feel fuzzy and warm. The lighting is very warm-toned and so the interior is a little dark, but it brings out a good family dinner vibe :-). Food/Drinks: The food is seriously phenomenal!! I can see why people would wait in long lines for this place. The Rubirosa Salad is the perfect appetizer if you're looking for an easy start. It pairs perfectly with the bread basket that you're started with! The pizza was the main course my entire party was looking forward to. The crust was thin and crispy... Just like how any Brooklyn-style pizza should be! The black and white Tagliatelle has such fresh seafood. The pasta is nice and chewy and compliments very well with the sauce. I've had the Oktoberfest and the beer is very smooth and crisp, making it a perfect pair with my pizza! Service: Our waiter for the night was amazing! Very attentive for our party of 5 and did a fantastic job recommending us the Rubirosa salad :-) thank you! Our water cups and pitchers were never empty, our stomachs and our hearts were full. My next trip to NYC will definitely consist of Rubirosa again! Thank you so much :-)
I went here for my birthday last night. My issue with the meal wasn't the food. It was a party of 11 and we spent over $100 per person. Two hrs into the meal, they kicked us out. Who allocated two hours to a birthday party table of 11?????????? Totally bizarre. And definitely not the ideal way to end a night. I'm definitely going to try a different restaurant in the future. So- beware large parties! PS- two friends tried getting a bottle sent to our table beforehand, and neither ended going through.  One called them "beyond unhelpful". Def would not take a chance on group dining here if I was you
