Easily one of the best sukiyaki I’ve had in Kyoto. The wagyu was incredibly tender, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and every ingredient was fresh. A cute little spot we just decided to go to for dinner right outside the train station after a big day of wandering. Affordable and fantastic food with pleasant owners and staff. It was quiet and food came out quick, the pork cutlet was phenomenal. Def recommend a stop if you're hungry and about to board the train back to central Kyoto. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

This place is absolutely amazing! When I was in Kyoto for 7 days/8 nights, I went to Saganoya 6/8 of those nights. The staff is simply caring and sweet! Their food was amazing! Everytime I went, I had their Japanese Black Beef Udon (sometimes I ordered 2 for myself at once and finished the bowl, clean) and their Black Pork Cutlet Bowl. I would highly and strongly recommend anyone who visits Kyoto/Arashiyama Forest to come to this place. You will simple be amazed! I have told me friends who are visiting in 2026, to come to this place as well.
