Samovar is an tea bar that sits on top of the modern cascading waterfall and park that is Yerba Buena Gardens. It looks like a glass house, with an outdoor patio, perfect for soaking in the sun, or warming up a gloomy San Francisco day with beautiful views of downtown. Drinking tea is a ritual, but even if you're not an avid tea drinker, you can come here to experience it. The menu truly takes tea and healthy organic food to a new level. The tea comes out in a tray with small stone kettle and Indonesian tea cups. I come here when I want time to slow down and do something good for myself. Healthy food options, and amazing tea experience. I always order the same thing: Lychee black tea with honey and lemon Brown Rice Bowl with Tofu Great place to soak in the sun and views of downtown.

If having brunch with a view is a priority, this venue is an excellent choice! Samovar Tea Lounge in the heart of San Francisco is an "urban oasis" situated atop a waterfall at Yerba Buena Gardens. You're invited to luxuriate and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city. The huge glass windows allows plenty of natural light to illuminate the exquisite interior and making way for a stunningly lush garden view. When the weather is nice, soaking up a little nature at the outdoor seating is also idyllic. The menu offers a varied and thoughtful selection of crafted teas that can brilliantly be paired with aesthetically pleasing dishes. Vegetarian friendly options are available as well. We opted for the following items: SMOKED DUCK JOOK Rice porridge topped with tender smoked duck, peanuts, cilantro, and sautéed garlic was absolutely delicious! CHALLAH FRENCH TOAST Served with two pillowy soft French Toasts covered in berries and pure maple syrup. The portion was huge and filling. One of the best I've ever had! EGGS BENEDICT A LA AVOCADO Homemade biscuits topped with poached eggs and avocado-Hollandaise sauce with a side of fruits and salad. A great combination of savory and freshness. Service was friendly and accommodating albeit a bit slow. Granted it was lunchtime on a Saturday. Dine at this stylishly elegant Samovar on a day when you have plenty of time to linger and enjoy the food and ambience.
