If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful food that truly stands out, Shalimar is an absolute must-visit. From the moment the dishes hit the table, you can tell everything is made with care and attention to detail. The flavors are rich, perfectly balanced, and leave you wanting more after every bite. Whether you’re trying it for the first time or you’re a regular, the quality never disappoints. What truly makes Shalimar special, though, is the experience beyond the food. The owner Shahnewes is incredibly amazing warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making sure every guest has a great time. That level of hospitality really elevates the entire dining experience. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, and even more amazing people behind it. Highly recommend! Went here for the first time tonight for dinner and I'm already wanting to go back! I got the lamb over rice which was absolutely delicious. Nice big portion and I went home with lots of leftovers. The employees were so sweet and kind. You can tell how much they take pride in their work and food. They even sent us home with a free dessert. Our lucky day! The atmosphere is nothing fancy, but is clean. Can't wait to go again and try more of the menu! If you haven’t been, you NEED to go to the Shalimar in Rensselaer. The owner is absolutely amazing. Friendly, welcoming, and professional. The food is beyond delicious. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan. Portions are large and the price is great! We usually get takeout but decided to go dine-in and we were NOT disappointed. The owner was so lovely to us and even gave us some freebies. Places like this make you want to come back over and over again. Want a little taste of India? Head on over to Shalimar Greenbush!
