Pretty disappointed in my dinner here, the prices are expensive considering portion sizes and how run down the restaurant is.. filthy cutlery/cups etc. Service was slow and all the food came out at random delayed times despite not being busy. Fried Noodles was nice but that was about it. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$60–80 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

The dumplings were great but the hot n sour soup was way too sour and not a good mix. The place was also tinnier than I expected and walked past it twice in the arcade before i saw it. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: A$40–60 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Shandong Mama was one of my first favourite restaurants when I moved here over ten years ago now! (*˘︶˘*).。* I went there again for the first time in a while with my partner and we had the braised noodles (sometimes called Daryl noodles I think?), the boiled mackerel dumplings (no pic ate it too fast), and cucumber salad. We actually meant to order the pan fried mackerel dumplings, but accidentally chose the boiled ones. At first I was a bit disappointed, but don't let the humble and plain appearance of the boiled dumplings fool you They are so so tasty, the outside tastes like nothing but the second you sink your teeth into it the savoury filling floods your mouth and is so very tasty!!!! Though I love the crispiness of the pan fried ones, the boiled dumplings are even more moreish somehow. The braised noodles were delicious and the first time I had them, I had my own portion but I recommend sharing! That way you and your friend(s) can eat the noodles before they get overcooked in the soup. (One star as been deducted because the cucumber salad wasn't as nice as it used to be; it tasted like sauce had been thrown over bland pieces of cucumber as opposed to what it was before: cucumbers that had been lightly pickled and marinated in a slightly sweet, savoury, tangy brine with lots of raw garlic ) Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Boiled Dumplings, Fish Dumplings
