The serving size for the noodles and veggies here are pretty generous. I feel healthy when I have all these veggies I can add to my noodles. I particularly like tomato broth and I thought this place’s tomato base was great! For dessert we got the drunken tofu pudding. You can taste the alcohol ever so slightly, but you won’t get any of that burning sensation. It’s a little sweet and is a nice treat to end the meal with. This restaurant had very high reviews so I was excited to try the rice noodles here. The noodles and topping you choose are served separately. I chose the spicy beef brisket option (香辣牛腩)and I will say that the meat portion was quite large. However, the beef brisket was not tender - the beef chunks were actually quite tough and I could tell that the meat needed more time to soften. Maybe they expect that if you soak the beef brisket into the noodle broth it will soften, so they didn’t cook the brisket as much? But I feel like since this is the main ingredient then it should taste good on its own, but it didn’t. Also felt like the beef brisket was too salty, but this may be personal preference. As for the noodles - the soup and noodles have almost no flavor until you scoop the meat and meat sauce into the noodles. They serve the noodles this way for all the options. So I feel like the flavors didn’t mesh together - the beef was very salty (but not very fragrant) and the noodle soup itself was bland. Also I will say that the cilantro pieces in the noodles and beef were extremely large - the entire cilantro leaf was still intact. I normally like cilantro flavor, but I have never eaten such large pieces of the vegetable except when having hot pot. And the cilantro flavor wasn’t integrated into the beef at all so not sure why it was even placed there in the first place. Price here is good for the portion size but the flavor and quality wasn’t there for this dish Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

I love simple legit restaurants that do one or two things really well. In the case of this restaurant bowls of spiced noodles in broth are their jam. So is giving it away for near free. I went here for lunch after a work meeting. There’s no way I could make this at home in under an hour. So to pay for that treat at under $20 for a fish-based noodle soup was out of your mind outrageous (in a good way). Our server was also super polite, kind, and attentive. Real friendly fellow that had all the respectful mannerisms of deferential assistant Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
