I rarely leave one-star reviews; I usually try to be objective and grant two or three stars even when dissatisfied. However, Sphaeristerium is aggressively unfriendly to anyone who doesn’t speak Italian. I ordered a sandwich with mozzarella, rucola, and prosciutto. Let’s review the linguistic “distance” of these words between English and Italian. Sandwich = sandwich Mozzarella = mozzarella Rukola = ricola Prosciutto = prosciutto It doesn’t take a linguist to understand that order, yet it took the arrogant women behind the counter five minutes to acknowledge it. To make matters more funny, some random man, possibly the supervisor of tha place, felt the need to scold me for answering "yes" instead of "si." The ladies then insisted I wait outside for my order to be brought to me. Given the blatant hostility I had already received for such basic things, I wasn't about to risk my cappuccino being served with a side of "spite," so I waited inside to watch it being made. It’s really ironic to have a menu in English while having such a disdain for non-Italian speakers. And as I told that random “si” man: I hope when he visits Greece on vacation, everyone answers him exclusively in Greek. PS to the management: I’m deeply sorry for not acquiring conversational fluency in Italian before considering spending 4 days of vacation. I was completely oblivious of the chauvinism i may encounter. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
