Michelin selection.

Tucked away in the sleepy Mordecai neighborhood in a former grocery store, Stanbury is a favorite with the locals. They don't take reservations, so you'll need to arrive early when they open around 4:30 pm or wait with a drink in hand on their decked terrace. The menu is as eclectic as the place itself (think hunting lodge with taxidermy)... My meal was very delicious. The atmosphere was upbeat...good energy. My server was knowledgeable, helpful with my meal selection and attentive. However, her armpit odor was bad. It was the same for two other servers there as well. It feels weird sharing but it was something that impacted my experience. Overall, I would go back and I would recommend it to others. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $70–80 Recommended dishes: Small Plates, Fried Oysters Parking space: Not sure

This is what happens when restaurants try to become to innovative. Food was disappointing to say the least. The atmosphere is crowded and if you’re seated by the kitchen, you can smell the scent of raw meat. The bread is literally packaged and toasted. Everything was burnt and not worth the hype. The portion sizes are small not to mention overpriced. Do not recommend. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: $40–50

One of Raleigh’s best hidden gems. The food, atmosphere, and overall experience were outstanding, but the oysters were the real highlight. Easily the best oysters in Raleigh. Our server Tommy was excellent and paid attention to every detail, from thoughtful recommendations to making sure everything arrived perfectly. If you are looking for a memorable dinner spot that feels special without being overdone, Stanbury is the place. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
