Having recently visited Steak Inn at the Ren’ai Circle, I can confidently say it remains one of the most reliable and classic steakhouse experiences in Taipei. Even after decades, it maintains a perfect balance between high-end quality and a welcoming, unpretentious charm. The steak here is truly the star of the show. I opted for the U.S. CAB Angus Beef Top Cap & U.S. Prime New York Strip, and it was exceptional—perfectly seared with a flavorful crust that locked in all the juices. The meat was incredibly tender, and they nailed the medium-rare doneness I requested. If you are feeling adventurous, their Wellington Steak is a masterpiece; the puff pastry is buttery and crisp, complementing the rich beef and truffle notes inside. Don’t skip the legendary Mushroom Soup with Puff Pastry to start—the way the servers skillfully remove the golden, flaky crust at the table is a delightful touch, and the soup itself is deep and earthy. What makes this location special is the atmosphere. Tucked away in a quiet alley near the bustling Ren’ai Circle, it feels like a hidden retreat. The interior is elegant and cozy, with large windows that let in soft natural light, creating a warm vibe that works just as well for a romantic date as it does for a family celebration. It feels "old-school" in the best way possible—refined and comfortable without being stuffy. The service was the cherry on top. From the moment we walked in, the staff were attentive and professional without being intrusive. They are clearly well-trained, offering thoughtful recommendations and even helping to portion out larger sharing steaks at the table. It’s that rare kind of hospitality where you feel genuinely cared for throughout the meal. * Prime Ribeye and the iconic Wellington Steak. * The Mushroom Soup with Puff Pastry is a must-order starter. * Features a cozy, elegant atmosphere with a classic "old-school" Taipei steakhouse vibe. * The service is incredibly attentive, including table-side steak carving and personalized care.
