The neo-futuristic building housing Suan Coffee is a testament to the scale of this impressive Busan coffee powerhouse. The interior of this landmark building is equally high-tech with all the latest in coffee brewing and roasting machinery, carefully displayed along a long curved white countertop that continues across the length of the building. Mirroring this display, a sleek concrete bench lines the window with all the seats facing inwards directly at the roasting lab, the nerve centre of Suan Coffee. Starting in 2018 the company's diverse business operation includes roasting, green bean storage, coffee bean distribution, a barista school and an on-site cafe. The focal point of the cafe is without doubt their Probat UG 22kg "Retro Series", paired with a small batch Probat Probatone. Daily brewing takes place on their Faema E71, while the others on display are used for predominantly educational purposes including a La Marzocco and custom Kees Van Der Western Spirit Duette (photo). Every brand of grinder from Victoria Arduino, Compak, Anfim, Mazzer and Mahl Konig is also on display for R&D, training and everyday use. Wholesale customers and everyday consumers are invited to taste each of the brand's coffee beans before ordering. These are ranked according to the level of roasting: 1) L1 (Light) 2) L2 (Light) 3) M3 (Medium) 4) M4 (Medium) 5) D5 (Dark) 6) D6 (Dark)
