It's been a while since we found the Cobbles Tea rooms in Rye, and I decided that quite frankly they needed a review of what's been said by both the current reviewers.  It's in a nice secluded area of Rye, amongst the lavender and roses.  Not that large an establishment and can get busy very quickly (also, they can sell out of certain items if you get there late in the afternoon.)  So try to get there in the morning, or for lunchtime at the latest.  The tea rooms are quite small, maybe 7 tables inside, and a couple outside.  So be prepared to share with people you don't know if it gets busy! We were cat sitting in Hastings (a few miles down the coast) and this was one of the only things we definitely wanted to do while close to Rye.  We found it a few years ago and found that their scones were melt in the mouth delicious.  I'm glad to say, they still are! I had 2 cheese scones, and a cream "coffee" cause I didn't want tea.  The wife had a 2 gluten free cream tea, then a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. The coffee and tea were very good, and enough to fill the cups two or three times. My scones were delicious, served warm, served with love.  If you do anything before you die, go and get one of these cheese scones, I really can't recommend them highly enough!  (Do you think I'm gushing a little too much?)  Honestly, these are the most delicious scones I've ever had with butter melted on them.  Then an ordinary cream tea for lunch, we have always left tea rooms full and very happy.   Awesome ambience, awesome staff, awesome coffee and scones.  We're definitely going back!
