Had a fantastic meal out with family, I grew near this pup and still remember going round the back for a secret serving of chips after playing football all night. First time back in 30 years and what a transformation. Nice big room out the back with nice fires and cosy seating. The food was spot on, it had a mixture of English dishes with a slight Indian take on them. The staff were very friendly and we shall definitely be going back way more. What an absolute disaster Christmas Day 2023 was. We arrived just before 2pm for our booking which was 2pm. On arrival we were told we would have to wait as the previous sitting was still eating. We kept asking every 15 minutes if our table was ready and kept being told another 10/15 minutes. After 1hour 15 mins we were seated and then a further 50 minutes and still no food at which time we decided to get up and leave. Thank you The George at Kilsby for ruining the day we had been looking forward to for so long. You clearly overbooked, felt sorry for the waiting staff. Management were a complete joke. Update: we did leave with our cash deposit which I demanded to be paid before we left. The owner called us 3 days later to offer us 20% of all meals for life which we will not be taking up. Service: 1
